Choosing a crane
Crane size depends on shell weight and how far it must reach. Distance over the roof matters more than weight — a light shell lifted 20m needs a big crane.
Powerlines
Lifts near overhead lines need clearances set by Western Power. This can force a larger crane set up further away.
Traffic management
If the crane blocks the road or footpath, a traffic management plan and controllers may be required. Ask your builder who organises and pays for it.
